This page will be dedicated to the many different animal species that come in to our rescue. Many of them become our Creature Teachers and can be seen on our many different assembly programs while others are just being fostered until we can place them. A new animal will be posted each month with their picture and information on them. Schools and classrooms can virtually adopt them for teaching units!

Recently PBS featured a Nature program on the problem with non-native animal species found in Florida. Many of these creatures have gotten a good foot hold in that semi-tropical state when even in their native homes around the world they are disappearing. The show is 30-45 min long and features pythons that have naturalized them self in the everglades causing real problems for native wildlife. This is a must see for the class room! In 2010 the United Nations have designated it as World Diversity from indigenous cultures to world wildlife. Check out the threatened, endangered and extinct wildlife red lists and weblinks. A great mini show on species diversity and extinction is featured.
